| Southampton University’s new Life Sciences Building, known as Building 85, will accommodate the Schools of Biological Sciences and Medicine and the newly established Institute for Life Sciences (IfLS) and is being designed to reflect the University’s ambition to establish a world-leading, agenda-setting centre of cross-disciplinary research, learning, and innovation. The timber itself has been treated with a UV protective coating, the first project in the UK to use the ‘Suncare’ system from Boheme, allowing the timber to retain its beautiful natural colours for the lifetime of the building. |
